Home holiday

Supermom wrote about holidays in her blog recently.  She spoke about how important it is to have a family holiday, for the kids and not just as a break for the parents.

I must agree.  I’ve been on leave for a week now, and am dreading going back to work on Wednesday.

Even though we haven’t gone away, we’ve had such a wonderful time at home as a family.  We’ve reconnected with each other, and it was long overdue.  And the best part of it was Lance’s laptop crashing so he hasn’t spent all day online :) .  It’s been such a long time since we had a break really, it was just what we needed as a family.

Connor has really enjoyed spending every day with us all, and he’s really going to miss us when he has to stay with Beauty during the day again.  I think she’s going to have her hands full because he’s used to going out a lot now, and he’s just sooo busy!  He throws a tantrum when I leave without him now, and starts crying… he doesn’t like seeing me leave in the car without him. It’s going to be hard going back to work.

As for Bradley, I don’t think he’s really thought about this new school he’s starting at.  I think it’s because he was so sick and didn’t get to say goodbye to his old friends.  This is going to be an interesting time in the next few weeks.

The next step is to actually go away.  I really want to get to Hermanus in the next few months to visit my grandparents, and we wanted a beach holiday this year too.  Hopefully we make that happen.

I’m glad you had such a good time together. Yesterday I wrote about our perfect day at home. Is like you say – it can be perfect anywhere…even if it is spent at home. I go back to work on Wednesday too … however since thankfully it is my own business, I don’t think I will do too much. My secretary also told all the clients that we will only be back on the 7th, giving me more time to just get back into things without the phone and clients

I am loving having Nathan home on holidays. He is just so fantastic with Amy when he isn’t stressed from work.

Also? There is something on my blog for you ;)

aww you’re so lucky you’ve both had time off over the holidays :) I love it when we spend a day at home just the three of us with the pcs firmly switched OFF… it doesn’t happen enough these days!

Hope you and your family have a wonderful year in 2008 :)

    Happy New Year!
