Uninspired tonight
I can’t think of a topic tonight. I’m too tired.
In fact, I’m sure I thought of a riveting topic while I was stuck in the most god-awful traffic today. Oh well, that thought has disappeared. Some days I wish I had a PDA so that I could blog in the traffic.
Talking about traffic, it’s the pits at the moment. This afternoon we again didn’t have power, so Sandton was completely gridlocked at 4pm already! And this morning, I left home at 6:30 and got to work at 8! I can’t possibly get up earlier than 5am, I just give up. It’s so frustrating. I hate this commute! And it’s not even a long distance, it take 20 minutes if there’s no traffic. Arrrggghhh!
OK, on to nicer subjects now. A lot of the bloggers, whose blogs I follow avidly are having the most amazing snow. I say amazing because we don’t get snow here. Well, we did get snow this last winter for one day and that was unusual. It’s completely foreign to me. I can’t imagine being that cold. How do you get to work in that weather? Do you seriously have to shovel snow every day, or is that just in the movies?
Just to make you all jealous, the temperature here was 30degC today (86degF). The only crap part about it was that I didn’t even realise until I drove home.
Oooh, I almost forgot to mention! Connor got another tooth today, his third one! No wonder he’s been a bit miserable. Maybe he’ll start walking now. Have you heard the theory that babies either develop teeth or a gross motor skill at any given time, and they never happen together? In other words, they won’t get a tooth at the same time that they start crawling or sitting etc. Anyway, I’m trying to test it out, so far it’s been true.

okay …..way jealous here of your weather! It’s 35F here today and snow everywhere.
I hate snow. I grew up in Florida and never saw snow until we move to Boston a year ago.
YaY for tooth #3! I think our daughter popped a tooth and then crawled soon after around 6months..interesting theory. I’ll have to look back and see if it was true for us.
Yes. You have succeeded in making me very jealous! I am so over the snow…snow is soooo yesterday. I need some sun, warm and a tan! Did I mention that I’m jealous??
Here is a more fun theory…They get teeth and subsequently lose them at the exact same time.
I tested this one.
1of3 got his first tooth at 5 mo, 3 weeks. He lost his first tooth at 5 y, 3 weeks.
Second tooth? 6 months, 2 weeks. Lost his second tooth? 6 years, 2 months.
It worked with the second kid, too. Creepy, huh?
I have heard of that theory. Rudolf Steiner says that if a child doesn’t have his two front teeth – he’s not ready for school.
Possibly why Carmen is not quite there yet with the potty training- she’s still missing her last molars.
I like Mr Lady’s theory, but that would have meant I didn’t lose a tooth until I was 10, which didn’t happen. (I had lost all my baby teeth a little after my 12th birthday)
Hmmm, interesting. Boo cut his first tooth, rolled and crawled in the same week.
The week I went back to work.
So that just proves that Boo is unusual or just a bastard.
