Ugly elbows

Huckdoll posted yesterday about vanity and it reminded me of what an ex-colleague used to say.

Whenever we saw a beautiful woman in the shops or at work, and someone commented about what this person looked like, Lizette would say “she’s got ugly elbows”.

It always made me laugh, but there’s quite a lot of truth in that semi-spiteful statement.  Everyone has a part of their body that they don’t like.  And even though we might think that woman is stunning, she probably thinks she isn’t and thinks she has a lot of faults (nevermind that we were making up faults just to make ourselves feel better).

I got reminded of that statement last week at work too.  I was walking behind the most stunning woman, and happened to notice her elbows… and guess what… they were damn ugly!  LOL!  I had a good giggle to myself.
